PURPOSESignificant changes to the Minimum Data Set (MDS) patient assessment tool released by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will be effective Oct. 1, 2023. Now is the time for skilled nursing facilities to understand the changes so they can prepare their staff and settings ahead of the deadline.
