Requirements for Licensure
Applicants for licensure must:

Meet eligibility/experience criteria for licensure as an Assisted Living Director in Minnesota (see BELTSS ALD License Applicant Requirements)

Complete a course of study with a minimum of 40 hours in subjects necessary to perform the duties of an assisted living director in Minnesota.

Complete a course of study with a minimum of 80 hours in core curriculum.

Complete a field experience under the direction of a mentor.

Successfully pass examinations on the Minnesota, Core, and Line of Service training.

Our coursework is 100% online and on demand. You can complete the work at any time that fits into your schedule and at your own pace. Please note that if you have an ALDIR permit, it is good for one year and is not renewable.
The cost of the course covers 46 hours of content focused on Minnesota regulations and 88 hours of content on CORE/RCAL knowledge required for the national exam.
Not included are your licensure application fees and the cost of the MN and national exams.
You can complete your field experience during or after your coursework.
